A Marvel fan recently got his ultimate wish in the form of a truly customised home theatre solution. The home in question overlooks Wimbledon’s centre court, and the owner had a very specific requirement for experienced installation company, Imagine This: a Marvel themed home cinema for himself and his family to use as a dedicated movie and gaming room.

In addition to the theatre’s distinctive theme, the client was insistent that the cinema was capable of producing Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and DTS:X immersive audio. Imagine This used home cinema design software, The Cinema Designer (TCD) to design the £177,000 immersive home theatre, including products from B&W, Barco, Classé, Crestron, Kaleidescape, Screen Research and Fortress Seating.

Nine B&W CT8.4 LCRS surround sound speakers driven by Classé Sigma AMP5 amplifiers were installed into the room, bolstered by four CTSW12 passive closed-box subwoofers and two SA1000 subwoofer amplifiers, with four CCM8.5 two-way in-ceiling loudspeakers completing the immersive audio setup.

“B&W was chosen for this impressive cinema room because the manufacturer’s high performance in-wall speakers deliver the performance objectives required for this room,” said Imagine This MD, Guy Singleton. “Paired with the loudspeakers’ dynamic range and clarity, they were the perfect match for the room – the client was completely bowled over by the audio.”

The Marvel-themed theatre also boasts a Barco DP2K-8S compact, fully integrated DCI-compliant digital cinema projector and Alchemy Integrated Cinema Media Processor, a Screen Research screen, a Trinnov Altitude 32 AV processor, a Kaleidescape Cinema One movie server and DV700 disc vault, and a Crestron CP3 3-Series Control System.
