A B&W communal cinema worth £300K has been installed into a London apartment building for its tenants to enjoy.
Integration company, Imagine This was tasked with installing the 15-seat theatre into the brand-new apartment building. One of the client’s key requirements was that anyone from its 210 apartments would need to be able to book the cinema for private use using a biometric finger print reader.
The Cinema Designer (TCD) was used to design the Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, DTS:X-capable communal cinema, which features a combination of B&W CWM 8.3 three-way and CWM 8.5 two-way in-wall loudspeakers, CCM 8.5 two-way in-ceiling speakers, CTSW15 passive closed-box subwoofers and SA1000 subwoofer amplifiers.
“B&W were the right choice for this cinema, as in addition to them producing a lot of SPL and being efficient, they were the right balance of price and performance; the client being a building contractor, they were quite price conscious,” said Imagine This MD, Guy Singleton.
The cinema was also equipped with Classé Sigma AMP5 amplifiers, a Barco DP2K-8S compact, fully integrated DCI-compliant digital cinema projector and Alchemy Integrated Cinema Media Processor, a Screen Research screen, a Datasat LS10 cinema processor, a Kaleidescape 3U Server and DV700 disc vault, Crestron control for the bespoke booking service, Lutron lighting and Fortress Seating.
